THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES: AGES 7-12
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Performance Friday Evening
Great men throughout history have thought themselves wise and this good-hearted emperor is no different. When two cunning scoundrels who are out to dupe the gullible ruler promise him a glorious new wardrobe visible to only the most wise, the emperor sees his chance to prove his wisdom. Posing the question of whether it is it better to be thought wise or honest, come indulge this classic Hans Christian Anderson tale through song and dance in The Emperor’s New Clothes.
The students will spend each camp session learning songs, choreography and dialogue to a musical to be performed Friday evening of their camp week. Through the various exercises students learn self-discipline, leadership and participation skills, public speaking and expression, and the joy of their personal gifts. Other activities include Theater Games, Stage Time and All-Team Time.
FANTASTIC FAIRYTALES: AGES 4-6

Once upon a time in a land far away, there was a girl with two evil stepsisters…and three pigs. Wait a minute – that’s not how it goes! Fantastic Fairytales begins as we all have come to expect, but something goes terribly wrong! The fairytale characters get off course and end up in the wrong story clashing with other characters. At first it seems that things will never get straightened out, but in the end they all learn something from their new friends and discover the importance of each story.
The students will spend each camp session learning songs, choreography and dialogue to a 15 minute musical to be performed Friday evening of their camp week. Through the various exercises students learn self-discipline, leadership and participation skills, public speaking and expression, and the joy of their personal gifts. Other activities include Theater Games, Craft Time, Snack Time and All-Camp Team Time.
BEPOP WITH AESOP: AGES 7-12

Come on down to the drive-up diner and do some ‘soda shop swing’ in Bepop with Aesop. Good advice and smart decisions are never out of style. Come party with us as we bring Aesop’s classic fables and their timeless wisdom to a new generation. Pull on your poodle skirts and your black leather jackets to rock with the oldies. This musical style extravaganza will help us do-wop into doing well.

WACKADOO ZOO: AGES 4-6

Boy this zoo is Wackadoo!! Sounds mixed-up, don’t know what to do! Cows that meow, lions that crow, monkeys that bray – oh what a day! Call the Doctor or Linguistics, see which animals he can fix. This hilarious show will have you know that being yourself is the way to go. And…it rhymes!

TREASURE ISLAND: AGES 7-12

Ahoy Mateys! With swords and song we tell the classic tale of young Jim Hawkins adventure aboard the Hispaniola. Come sail the seven seas of high adventure with the likes of Jim, Billy Bones and Long John Silver as we unravel the mystery of lost islands and forbidden treasure in a musical based on the literary classic by Robert Louis Stevenson. Come me hearty’s! Strap on your sword and brave the deep for only the strong may escape. Are you savvy enough to survive or will you end up in Davey Jones Locker?

PRINCESSES AND PIRATES: AGES 4-6

High nobility and the high seas clash in this tidal wave of adventure. It is sure to be a treasure chest full of fun! Watch out as the Princess Kingdom goes on a journey only to find trouble ahead when they run into a group of rascally pirates! Princess and pirate attire is always welcome! This yo-ho good time will be fun for all!

BROADWAY TODAY: Musical Revue Theater Camp: AGES 10-13 & 14+

Spotlight please! The growing musical theater performer that is looking for a place to showcase and grow their skill needs to be in this camp. The campers will learn selected scenes, songs and choreography from contemporary musical theater including music from Stephen Swartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and many more. In addition to their rehearsal time, the campers will learn about confidence, stage presence, performance techniques, and the necessary tools to be a competitive performer. Public speaking skills and personal confidence are highly developed in this atmosphere of performance opportunities and creativity. The week will end with a Friday evening performance.
FORCE ACADEMY: A Performance Combat Camp: AGES 7+

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a colony has been discovered on a remote moon. Taladros is an old settlement whose people are all strong with The Force. Both the Jedi Counsel and the Sith Empire desire control of this small but very important clan because they will be trained to become some of the most powerful Jedi ever to travel the stars. Born and raised with a strong understanding of the force and its power, each clan member must make a choice. Light or Dark? Life or Power? The Greater Good or Selfish Gain? The contest for control of Taladros and its people will be played out at this exciting combat performance camp. Do you have the discipline and strength to earn your lightsaber? Do you have the courage to wield it?
The students will spend each camp session learning fighting positions, choreography, discipline, physical training and acting for the performance combat show to be presented Friday evening of their camp week. Stage combat also develops great personal discipline and team playing skills as actors must perform very specific tasks in an orderly and choreographed way for success. The discipline and respect needed to be a successful stage combat performer encourages the student’s self-respect and personal confidence.
ACTING INTENSIVE: AGES 12+

So are you ready to be in a show this summer? Look no further, this two week intensive will culminate with a full-length production! This camp is designed to focus on the growing actor who is ready to take their training to the next level. Each camper will explore the whole performance package by rehearsing for the show, finding and making props, pulling costumes and building and painting sets. Students enrolled in the Acting Intensive are called upon to take a higher level of personal responsibility for their education and their level of commitment to their craft. This heightened effort increases the actor’s development in personal confidence, public speaking, and flexibility in dealing with team situations. The final performance will take place Friday evening July 2nd.
THE FROG PRINCE: AGES 7-12

This is a story about a Prince who needs rescuing. After a fall from a pampered life of ease, the frog prince finds himself more blue than green in his new swamp home. Watch the frog prince learn how to become a man while he navigates the dark world of the swamp. Where is the Princess who will love him warts and all?

JUNGLE JAM: AGES 4-6

From somewhere in the depths below the canopy amongst the vines and trees, the thunder of the drums begins. The call goes out to all the party animals. It’s time to boogie. From ants to elephants, everyone is joining the fun in Jungle Jam!

Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Julie Andrews, Fred Astaire…these are the people who made musical theater what it is today. Come study the same material as the greats. The campers will learn selected scenes, songs and choreography from classic musical theater including music from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and many more. In addition to their rehearsal time, the campers will learn about confidence, stage presence, performance techniques, and the necessary tools to be a competitive performer. Public speaking skills and personal confidence are highly developed in this atmosphere of performance opportunities and creativity. The week will end with a Friday evening performance.
AVATAR: A Performance Combat Camp: AGES 7+

Calling all BENDERS: EARTH, AIR, WATER, FIRE. The four elements are out of balance and need your bending help! The Avatar brought peace after ‘The Great War’. The Air Nomads have returned to strength and the world is in balance, but a new conflict has arisen. Once again fighting has broken out among the four nations. The Avatar struggles to maintain balance as the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, the Water Tribe, and the Air Nomads go once again to the battlefield. Come join the fray as an elemental combatant known as a 'Bender' and fight for one of these great nations. Each nation needs soldiers to protect their land and claim new ground. Sign on for this martial arts styled combat performance camp! Will you be the Bender who turns the tide and helps restore peace among the nations?

IMPROV AND ACTING: A Week of 10 Minute Plays: AGES 9+

Do you like improv? Do you enjoy acting? Come explore where the two intersect. Learn how to apply improv as an acting skill while developing 10 minute plays. Students will have daily sessions in impov and acting as well as rehearsals for their performance. Ready for the challenge of a main role? Come get the experience you’ve been waiting for. This heightened effort needed for Improvisation increases the actor’s development in personal confidence, public speaking, and flexibility in dealing with team situations. Improvisation is especially good in developing skills for seminar leading, leadership development, and effective response dynamics. The week will end with a Friday evening performance.
